Currently ISO 10646 standard, Super CJK, collects 70,205 CJK Unified Ideographs used in Asia. In Hong Kong meeting June 2001, it is decided to further expand the the size of Super CJK collection, called Ext-C. Members provide proposals for the expansion include Taiwan, Japan, China, South Korea, North Korea, Vietnam and Singapore.

ISO/IEC JTC1/SC2/WG2/IRG limits the Super CJK expansion proposed by each member to 5%. Taiwan intent to participate in this expansion task proposing around 10,659 glyphs in plane 12 to 14, including newly added glyphs and those used as last names in our Residency Administration System, in the first batch. This isn't an easy task to do. It requires tremendous effort to make sure that the new glyph candidates exist neither in the CNS glyph set (with 54858 glyphs) nor in the Super CJK glyph set (with 70205 glyphs). In order to make comparison operations efficient, there should have an automatic matching system. "The Network Query System for ISO 10646 Super CJK Unified Ideographs" serves for this purpose.

Based on ISO 10646 Super CJK Unified Ideographs, we provide variety of query methods. One might use UCS codes, CNS codes, KX_Radical or Strokes to query glyphs and might choose to show results either in Chinese mode or in English mode. This site is open for the general public. All are welcome to use and provide suggestions.
